Certain official UK Documents can be Legalized by Submitting them to the Legalization Office

If a representative from another country requests a UK document and says that it needs to be legalized, then you might need to do this. The Legalization Office will check the document to see if any signatures, stamps, or seals match their own records. If they do, they will affix a certified official stamp to the document in order to  apostille it. There are some UK documents that can be used immediately in the Netherlands. Others first need to get a apostille from the British government proving their legitimacy. You can use your documents with this quick legalization process.

Documents issued by a British embassy or consulate do not need to be legalized in order to be used. For police reports and civil status certificates, the UK government does not provide e-apostille services. To legitimize these documents, an Overseas Legalisation is required.
